10 Months.............
Well, I'm waiting again. I just ordered a Blacktail Elite. 10 months is a long time to wait on anything. I guess you can't hurry quality. I decided to order a one piece this time. I never even unstring my take down. It's cocobola and chechin (footed riser) with yew limbs. 62" 50 lb @28" JRW, you've convinced me! Can't wait! Dick
ps. Sorry Chad. |
RE: 10 Months.............
Heck, no reason to apologize--lol. Sounds like a gorgeous bow, and Norm has a great reputation. The wait shows he is busy, which is a good sign. A friend of mine shoots a Blacktail and really likes it--bet you will too!

RE: 10 Months.............
Dick 4Bows : I only have a 9 mo. wait ,ordered mine in Dec.
1 pc. 62" 55#@26" Bolivian rosewood riser footed with Myrtle , bamboo limbs with Myrtle venners . The only good thing is I have 9 mounths to pay for it. :) Billstick |
RE: 10 Months.............
Thats months ,not mounths :)

RE: 10 Months.............
Dick,
I consider the Blacktail one of the top 3 prettiest recurves available. Of course, my Trails End Medicine Point is the prettiest of all. :^) Seriously, the Blacktail is beautiful. I'm sure you will love it. Sag. |
RE: 10 Months.............
Dick,
Lord willing, sounds like you might have it in time for hunting season. You're more patient than I am. Eight more months until WI deer season, and ten months until I get my head mount back. I'm starting to get anxious already. At least I can start shooting carp in April or May. :) JRW |
RE: 10 Months.............
I checked into a blacktail reurve also because I thought they looked great but I will never bring myself to order a bow with that much lead time. You guys have more patience then I :)

RE: 10 Months.............
Sounds like a beautiful bow, congrats on your purchase. Believe ME, the first few months will be slow, but it will get better. I waited 10 months so far on my OL Adcock and have 2 more to go. I conversed with OL a few days ago and it should be right on time.

RE: 10 Months.............
Well, it looks like my wait will be over in another two months. I talked to OL the other day and it looks like all you guys ordering the the three piece bows has slowed him down a bit. This brings it to 14 months. No hurry though. The guy has some real demand for his bows.
|
RE: 10 Months.............
If a ten month wait is a good sign, what' s that say for you and your four month wait, Chad? ;) Just kidding. But I don' t think I could order a bow with a ten month wait. I guess I' m not patient enough. It' s hard enough dealin with the four month wait. But I guess if I put my mind to working hard and takin care of business now, it' ll leave me time to play when it arrives. Brandan |
RE: 10 Months.............
I have a Blacktail Elite VL TD w/footed riser on order. I shot one of our pig hunt client' s Blacktail recurve and was very impressed with both looks and performance. Thinking about an ebony riser footed with bocote and bocote veneers over bamboo for the limbs. Won' t get it until November, but I have a couple of O.L.' s ACS longbows to keep me shooting until then. Hope I can quit buying bows after I get the Blacktail.

RE: 10 Months.............
Lol Branden--I love it! The least lead time in years! I' m not worried about them running out of something to do--the same 2 people have been running it for over 30 years, so they must be doing something right. They will produce more bows in that 4 months than most will in a year or more--danged if I know how they do it--but I hope they don' t stop. :D

RE: 10 Months.............
I have trouble waiting 10 months too. That' s why I bought a Palmer. Only a 10 week wait. What can I get in 10 days? Dick

RE: 10 Months.............
OK, things seem to be moving along on my OL Adcock bow. Its been 17 months now (and my wife says that I am not a patient man), I spoke with OL yesterday. and my bow is all layed up and just needs to have the tips and overlays finished up. Should be sent out by the end of next week. Really looking forward to getting it. I' ll put some picks up when I get it (if I figure out how to post them).

RE: 10 Months.............
Wow Bob! You do have patience! I' m learning to shoot the Palmer. I don' t think there will be time enough to practice with the Blacktail. Dick
|
RE: 10 Months.............
Well, the longer he takes, the longer I had to pay the bill I guess.:D

Di,
I would be very upset! It sounds like your bowyer put you on the " Back Burner!" Warranty should take priority! You already had to wait the first time. Dick |

THUMBS DOWN ON TIMBERSPIRIT BOWS!
Di,
I' ve read about your bow here and on LW. No offense, but I don' t believe Joe will ever replace it for you unless you put the heat on him. I would never order anything from him or recommend him to anyone after what he' s put you through. Lots of guys email me and ask my opinion on bows. I will always tell them... " NEVER ORDER A TIMBERSPIRIT BOW" from now on. Sag. |

RE: 10 Months.............
I havent used a recurved bow since i was about 12 but the other day when i was shooting at the shop this boy about i' d say was either 10-12 was learning how to shoot one with his dad teaching. I had a big smile on my face because it' ll be one more person learnng how to bowhunt or just even shoot for fun [:-] And DI, just 2 more months to go :)
|
RE: 10 Months.............
I hear ya Red Hawk, that is how I learned when I was young. My 8 year old son is now shooting a longbow. It is a lot of fun showing him how to shoot. It' s amazing watching his face when he makes a good shot with good form (not necessarily accurate). He is learning what a good shot is compared to a bad one. He has a tendency to bring his release hand forward with the shot. But when he does it right, I know he gets the " good shot" feeling, no matter where the arrow hits. He keeps asking me when he can shoot the wheels, but I keep telling him, there will be time for that later.

RE: 10 Months.............
Well, my Adcock finally got here last Friday. It is truely a great bow, and I finally got something that fits me like a glove. It came in at 56# at 31 inches.
|
RE: 10 Months.............
Boy, it' s nice when it fits! Glad you got a great bow. Dick
|
RE: 10 Months.............
BobCo,
Congratulations, the Adcock is one of the best. Do you have any pics of it ? Sag. |

RE: 10 Months.............
I ordered the bow in late Feb of 2001. So the total wait was around 18 months. Lonebow, I would think that you are right in line to have the bow made. I' d give him a call and ask. I' ve been known to do that on occasion :D. Sorry no pics right now. I am still in the dark ages, no digital camera. But I' ll see if I can borrow one in the near future and post a few pics for you guys.
Yea, I' d have to say that this is the first stick bow that I have owned that does not stack with my long draw length. Nothing else has ever felt so good. |
