Anyone using PSE Bows

I am looking at the coyote or kudu for an intry level bow - I have a 28" draw and I am looking at 45 to 50 # for whitetail - does this sound like a good combo?

cdi, I'm sure not trying to be rude, but in my past experiences with PSE trad bows, I wouldn't give $5 for a truckload of them if part of the deal was I had to use one. I must admit, I haven't checked them out in a few years now, and the quality may have improved, but I don't care to look at them again. I suggest Martin for an over the counter bow. You should be able to find one used (or another good bow) at a good price. 45-50# is fine for whitetail, as long as you have your arrows flying straight, your broadheads sharp, and your accuracy down.

Not rude at all - I would rather know than make a mistake later -
Thanks,

Another excellent bow that would be a better choice than a Martin is a Chek Mate. I owned a Martin and the Chek Mate bows are hands down better and about the same price. I now own 2 Chek Mate bows! Contact Chad (LBR) at www.recurves.com. You'll find many happy Chek Mate owners on this forum

The newest generation of PSE Trad bows are made for them by Ragim of Italy. They are the same folk that make the AIM/Samick/Internature line of trad bows.

Jason,

PSE would be good only if your way of fishing was to beat them with a stick!! :)

I have one of those PSE Coyotes. I have not found anyone I dislike enough to sell it to yet. Its junk.

If the newer ones are made by AIM/Samick they might be a little better. The AIM hunting bows cost $200 and under. I have never shot one but have have been told that they are OK for the price you pay for them.

I'd add that you need to use fairly heavy arrows - more oomph and less bzzzzzt is the key to penetration. The high poundage, hard cam, compound shooters have enough KE to get decent momentum even out of a light arrow - we don't.
