Can anyone ID this longbow

Looks homemade to me.
I don't know anything about longbows, can anyone tell me what this thing is?
Thanks in advance.

Looks homemade to me too. Probably a maple riser. Maple limb cores too, I'd imagine. No reinforcing overlays on the limb tips, so use dacron strings. Don't put any type of fastflight string on it. Measure from one string nock to the other, subtract 3 inches and that will be the actual string length you need.

It looks like a straight limb bow, so it might have a good bit of hand shock. You can calm it down by using arrows at least 10 grains per pound of draw weight. 12 might even be better. Also you can play with the brace height to soften the shock.

If you haven't strung it up yet, then take it easy. Don't just string it and rip the thing back to full draw. Depending on how old and dry the glue is, it could explode. String it and take a few gentle pulls to 1/4 draw. LISTEN FOR ANY CRACKING! If you hear any, then unstring it and hang it on the wall. If it passes that, then do a few more to 1/2. Then a few to 3/4. If you've gotten that far and haven't heard any cracking, then go ahead and bring it on back to full draw.

Good luck with it. I hope she turns into a shooter for ya.

Is that paint or a lamination on the front ?
I agree with AP.
