Dream Bow
A good topic I saw on the Leatherwall - what would be ya'll dream bow - money not an issue ??
I love my Adcock bow and would probably want another one, two sets of limbs, both cane limbs, one carbon and maybe one snake skinned, with the riser of maybe Ebony or Bocote, antler tips, checkered grip , the works. I also would like to own a Sley and a Horne with all the frills. |
RE: Dream Bow
Right now, it would be another Crusader T/D longbow. 62" long, 55# @ 28", backed with green western rattle snake skins with clear glass over stained bamboo on the belly.

RE: Dream Bow
How's this? I'd like the original Fred Bear Super Kodiak. The one that has his signature on it. Dick

RE: Dream Bow
should be here by the end of the month - a 64inch Saxon takedown longbow 57lb at my draw, red elm and yew with an osage riser.....
|
RE: Dream Bow
Right now it'd be a Morrison Dakota. I'll have to sell a few of my other bows before I can order one tho...

RE: Dream Bow
Right now it'd be a new Crusader. 66" 65# @ 28". It would also be the one that I kneel down on the gravel beside an Alaskan stream, draw back and shoot upwards into the vitals of a Yukon (?) moose at 10 yards.

RE: Dream Bow
Got mine. 60 inch Scafer Silvertip takedown Paul made for me back in '89! Camo limbs and Walnut colored Dymondwood riser! 69 lbs at 28". Wish I had a one piece to match!!

RE: Dream Bow
I changed my mind. I surfed Acadian Woods site a day or two ago - WOW ! I have never seen prettier bows. I only know of what people say of them, but they are hands down the prettiest bows I have seen. The woods, the finish, the inlays, the options - I saw on the Leatherwall where a guy got ALL the option - and it cost him $1200 !! I gotta shoot one of those someday ....

RE: Dream Bow
A CM Longhorn with phynolic and Killer Whale tooth tip overlays, I'd leave the funky wood selection up to Marc- because according to the wife, I can't even dress myself properly...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: Dream Bow
Right now, my Sley recurve is my current dream bow. It's a new design and not shown on his website yet. It has a cocobolo riser with a bocote spiral in the center with bamboo limbs.
Would like to have another Sley, maybe a Longbow next time. Got a Trails End Meicine Point coming in October. It will have a bocote riser with a cocobolo stripe and fancy inlays. A guy from Leather Wall emailed a pic to me of his Medicine Point. It was an awesome looking bow. Sag. |
RE: Dream Bow
4 years ago I had everyone looking for used bows for me, a friend went to trophy book archery in Stony Plain Alberta, to a garage sale night. One older Gentlman was selling all of his bow (cheap) and he had a mid 1960 Black widow w/ 2 sets of limbs and 3 other bows. By the time my friend called me it was sold for around the $100 Canadian ($15 American ha ha). I am still sad.
