Well, I got in the Martin Dream Catcher I bought used from this forum. It is in real good condition and shoots nice. He sent two strings with this bow, a Fast Flight string and a Dacron string.

Since I have never had a fast flight string, what is the difference and what canI expect? Which one would be best for me to shoot?

I noticed the Fast Flight string had two rubber pieces at each end touching the limbs. Is this a necessity for fast flight strings? It seems if I pull them down it has a lot less string noise.

Those rubber things are brush busters and not needed at all. They are meant to keep brush and briars from getting in the space of that recurve.

As far as strings, it depends on your arrows. A dacron should make an arrow show stiffer reaction and a fast flight will make it show weaker. My dreamcatcher shows a stiff reaction on all arrows I tried so I ordered a high performance string to weaken the arrows some.

Try some bare shaft testing and see what happens. I would try the dacron first, and go from there.

Thanks Bigcountry....I went by my bow shop this afternoon and he told me pretty much the same thing you just told me. You guys are on the same page.

We went with the Dacron string, it worked great. It had a lot less vibration and shot my arrows like a dart. It is a 50#bow at 28"and I am shooting the 2016 Lite XX78 Super Slam with 125 gr. tips at a 28.5" draw right at, or touch better than, 160 fps. I didn't think that was too bad, it will be plenty enough for what I want it to do.

I am getting 172fps with 2016 with 125gr tips, 8" Brace H. What is your brace? Just curious.

My Brace is 7 3/8", you also have to consider your are shooting a high performance string and I am shooting a Dacron string. There is a difference there. My arrows are flying perfect and I don't want to change anything up. I am sure I could get some more speed out of it but I am shooting fast enough to kill a whitetail, and that is all I need it for right now.

Actually mine is a dacron string right now. I just can't take out any more twists to lower my BH. I do have a string on order from Chad hopefully be here soon.
