That is an awesome bow wyoming trapper!!!! Who makes it? I really like the woods and riser design. You must be a good shot to nab that rabbit! Good job and good luck this season.

I made that bow from a Bingham kit. Laminated maple riser and actionwood limb laminates with clear glass on the belly and back. I just shaped the riser to where it fit comfortably and looked good to me. I still use dacron to make the strings with a flemish jig. The shafts are cedar. I have made arrows of ash. They are sturdy asall get out, but a bit heavier than the cedar. Someday I'll actually get on the ball (ie, not be putting arrows together the day before the season opens) and make some footed shafts.
I've missed more bunnies and grouse than I've hit, but still do okay with them out to 25 yards or so. Elk I tend to miss at 15 yards, so go figure. Its amazing how a bit of adrenaline will muss up one's shooting! lol

Wow thats awesome. Was it hard to make that bow. Did the kit come with everything you need like the press and epoxy and all that? You did a great job. Yea that adrenaline does get to ya sometimes. I have experienced it a few.

I don't remember the specifics on what was available at the time.Different materials were available fro risers, limb laminates, glass, epoxies, etc...
Take a gander here for what's available now: http://www.binghamprojects.com/index.htm
I wouldn't say it is difficult to make one. You need to follow the instructions. A bench sander will save a ton of time and effort....
