TD Crusader noise help
 

I have been shooting my brothers TD Crusader for a week or so and keep hearing a noise after the shot. It seems like it may be the string but we changed it and the other string did it also. It is a high pitched sound that I have never heard a bow make before. We adjusted everything we could and it stayed constant. Anyone ever hear any funny sounds with theirs, and if so what was it and how did you get rid of it?

yup, but only when my alignment pin came loose and it wasnt a sound it was a feel lol. Did you try moving the silencers up and down? heavier arras? Not sure I can help much but I would be LBR or JRW can...

Strutter, My bow hasn't made any high pitched noises or low pitched noises. Just a thud which went mostly away when I attached the quiver. A few questions, is the bow aligned properly and the bolt cinched up tight? Not over tight, but snug. What is the brace height set at? What type of string are you using? Are you using string silencers?

I use the rubber whisker type silencers. At the 1/3 placements on the string. I use a dynaflight97 flemish string. The brace height is set at 7". The bolt is just snug.

The string is a FF that came with it. It is a red and black flemish twist if that helps. He has the puff type silencers that are about a 1/4 way down. Brace height is 7 1/8. We went up and down with it also. The bolt is snug but not overly tight. The sound may be the string. It is a whipping sound such as you get when you flip a fishing rod tip real fast. It is high pitched and is short in length but easy to hear. It does not matter if you shoot 1916, 2016, 2216. or a cedar post. We tried them all. He took his bow home tonight or I would still be shooting it trying to figure it out. I really like the bow as it shoots where I want it to most of the time. Didn't like that irritating noise though but given time I would have found the cause and cured it. Until he comes back down I guess it will be a mystery.

how did you old bow shoot? Pretty quite? B-50?

Don't know for sure about the Crusader but I had a noise on a longbow once and finally figured it out as the wind through the fletchings as it was being shot.

I've never experienced anything like that with the td or once peice. I haven't shot one with a FF string, but I don't think that is the problem. Sure would like to hear the answer when ya'll figure it out!

hey Chad, I was thinking the diff sound the 2 strings make. Its just a diff pitch almost like comparing my bob lee and then shooting a widow, not nessicarly loud just a different sound if that makes sense.
