Selway Stringer for high poundage bow

Will a selway stringer string a 96 pound long bow?

It would really depend on the weakest link of the stringer. I know my stringer is made from parachute cord which I believe is rated at 200 pounds. You're not fully loading the limbs though when you are stringing or unstringingthe bow. Just be careful though, John Schulz's brother Dan lost an eye unstringing a bow.

You may want to contact Selway.

I don't think it would be a problem. There is no minimum listed on the Selway brochure that comes with the stringer. The safe bet would be to call though: 406.363.4770

If you're talking about the one with the flat rubber pad on it then you're a better man than me if you can string that heavy a bow with it. The heavy two cup stringers from the Hill archery sells are what we use for the 80# plus bows but that flat rubber thing sets way to far from the limb tip for the heavy stuff in my opinion. If somebody out there has come up with a way to use them for heavy bows I'd love to hear it.

The selway stringer with the rubber piece worked just fine, but it took me to pull with both hands and another individual to slip the string on the tip, kinda scary though, but we gotter done!

I'm with longbowman2 on that one. Try the type he suggest, it's the only type I use on a longbow. The rubber type is OK for my recurves, and that's what I use on them. Maybe talk to Craig at HH, I'm sure he could hook you up with something better. Let him know the poundage also.
