WOW! WHAT A EVENING!
well after work today a co-worker and i went out to look for some birds. i really was planning on seeing a few maybe get busted by one.wow was i wrong!
we were only out about 30 min. and one gobbled! o.k. lets move down the draw my the creek. as we get within 300 yards gobble! gobble! wow maybe we got a chance. we follow this old road about 100 yards and gobble! wow he is like close. i set down and wade went back about 20 yards and up the hill 10 yards. we thought we could pull the bird out in the road. well it worked he came out of the brush to cross the road only 15 yards away. when he was 2 steps from being in the clear i drew my old bear grizzly tipped with a spitfire 125. as he stepped out from the brush i looked at the beard and ya that big enough. let it fly....... he turned ran arrow sticking out. i stood up and watched him run about 35 yards and fall to ground wings flopped around and that was it! i was so pumped it worked perfect! details: beard 10" spurs 3/4" wt about 20+ and nice full fan very happy!!!!!!! |

Manboy, congrats on the Gobbler! Sometime I'm gonna try to take down a Turkey with my Recurve. What kind of arrow did you shoot it with? (Carbon, Cedar, Aluminum?)
