No More Deer?
 

Went hunting Saturday. Spent all day in my tree stand and didn't see anything. I never touched the ground from before light to after dark.(very comfortable stand) I think the firearm hunters got them all! More than ever, I think I need to buy some hunting land. How about everyone else? Does anybody else hunt public land? It really stinks around Northeast Illinois. The real trouble is that I will have to buy 4 hours from home to be able to afford enough land to hunt. That stinks too! Dick

I carry my bow in firearms season here in SW PA. I can say with 1,000,000 licensed hunters after the first day you are hard pressed to see a deer moving naturally. I find it much more productive to walk, especially if we have a good tracking snow. I also hunt the late season, it comes in right after christmas and I often use the same techniques but will stand for the first and last hours. But if I posted all day I doubt I would see a deer after the orange army gets through.
