What kind of recurves do you guys shoot? I shoot a Samick, 50# at 28"I like it so far but I want to get 60-65# limbs for it.

RE: recurves
My main bow is a longbow, but I use a Chek-Mate Hunter I for bowfishing.

RE: recurves
I just got a 58" Black Widow PSA X,54#@28" today and I'm buying an extra set of limbs,49#@28" for it.

RE: recurves
The cheapest one I could find - PSE KingFisher . I like shooting it ,,, once I'm good at shooting this one , then I'll buy a Hoyt . I've got 45 lbs on it . I think I'll stay at about 45-55 lbs . It's tough enough to shoot these bows accuratly ,, I don't need muscle fatigue too .

RE: recurves
I don't shoot a Recurve, I am a longbow man, but I have shot a few, and the Chek-Mate Hunter I is a fine shooting bow.

RE: recurves
Among my longbows, I also have three recurves:
Chek-Mate King Pawn 54#'s at 29" Brackenburry Drifter 61#'s at 28" Great Plains Palo Duro 58#'s at 30" Pictures in order: ![]() ![]() ![]() |
RE: recurves
I shoot a Samick and InterNature Recurve. It's a great bow! It's called a SKB Korean bow. Here is some links to some pictures of it. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v292/sniper27/?action=view&current=100_0881.jpg

It's a beautiful bow! It's got A LOT of curve to it, and it's fast. I haven't shot it a lot yet; I can't wait until I do get to shoot it a lot. EnglishHope |
RE: recurves
BOBCO, that is without-a-doubt the neatest quiver I've ever ran across! How/where did you come about it?
Englishope, I've been piqued by the "asian" designed recurves of old. Let us know how you like your modern version...please. |
RE: recurves
Soilarch, thanks,Steve Catts custom made the quiver for me. I just talked to him a few days ago however about getting a sheath, and he is not taking custom orders right now. Too backed up, and for what I want there are others that can get it to me quicker. But he may have some quivers that are already made up. If you need contact info, let me know and I'll PM you.

RE: recurves
I have a Catt's hip quiver that I really like.He makes some of the best leather work around.I'll see him at the Baltimore Bowmen Taditional Classic next month--he always has alot of pieces for sale there

RE: recurves
![]() Very nice. That bow sure has somesexy curvesto it English. How's it shooting for ya? |
RE: recurves
BobCo, it's shootin' great! And yeah, it's got A LOT of curve to it. It's fast, it's a nice bow, and most of all, I'm shootin' it almost like I've been shootin' it for years but I haven't shot it that much. My groups need to be tighter but it's shooting great. I shot it sitting down yesterday so that I can go turkey hunting with it sometime. Thanks for the compliments:).

RE: recurves

RE: recurves
I have a take down recurve I made with a Bingham kit that was my main bow for years. The last 10 years or so I've hunted with a long bow--also from a Bingham kit. Both really nice shooting bows.
|
RE: recurves
I have a Chek-Mate Cruiser and just got a Hoyt Gamemaster II, which by the way boys may not look pretty but shoots fast and points well. I've only had a Trad bow for a few months but these two bows are so much fun I wonder why I didn't start this earlier.

|
RE: recurves
Pse falcon 55#@28inchs I love it!!!!!!
|
RE: recurves
Chek-Mate TD Hunter.
|
RE: recurves
I shot a blackwidow sav#61lbs, my favorite right now is my saxon selkirk #63lbs, I have a redwing hunter classic #45lbs, and several others that I can't think of right now. It seems that from year to year, and time of year I switch. Not a wise thing sometime, but in the middle of winter when you have every stitch of clothing on that you own, that bow that you shot all summer can be a real "bear" to get to anchor. I find that coming down ten to twenty pounds really makes a difference in good shooting.....;)

RE: recurves
I have two GraylingFred Bear's: a Black Bear 45# and a Kodiak Hunter 42#. Also have a Hoyt Pro Hunter 38#.
Fixin' to order a Fred Bear T/D, just because I can get them new for a pretty penny off what they normally are. Think I am going to go with a 60" 55# and will probably get an extra set of 65# limbs down the line (I think they do 65...might be 60 I can't recall). But I'll put up some pictures when she gets here! |
