Quivers??
 

What kind of quiver do you all use??

I'm getting a longbow, and am debating if I want to go with a hang on quiver or pack quiver. I know it will be a matter of "trial and error", but just wondering what style of quiver you all prefer??

I have both........
I have a Catquiver II for rainy days and if I just feel like shooting without one, and also a Thunderhorn Boa strap on style.
I typically don't use a bow mounted quiver on Compounds but with my longbow and recurves I think it might be best to keep a couple extra arrows right in front of me.;)

If you get a bow mounted one definitely practice with it on......it really changes the behavior of any given bow with respect to feel and possibly tune.

For hunting, I like to use my Cat Quiver. I like the way it protects my fletchings and I have room for other stuff in the back pack. For everything else, I use my Coyote Quiver.

For hunting I use a Cat-Quiver III-for practice or 3D shoots,I use a Steven Catts hip quiver

lol I just can't get over that coyote quiver. That thing is awesome!
I usually use a back quiver, but sometimes I use a hip quiver for target practice.

I have 3 cat quivers, the original, the I and the 3.5 and that is all I use, love them

I personally use a hip quiver (similar to my hero's chuck adams:)).... but have a few friends that use and swear by the dawgware quiver from 3rivers (tube style attached to your belt or over your shoulder).

For 3-D I use a Cedar Ridge hip quiver by Art Vincent, and am trying out his new pocket quiver with a pouch. Really liking it so far--it may become my 3-D quiver. Fits in the back pocket, with a pouch big enough for an extra glove and several other goodies.

For hunting, I use a cheap hip quiver I got at Wal-Mart, but have started wearing my belt over my shoulder, kinda GFA style.

I don't like the way a bow quiver makes my longbow feel--too off-balance. I've tried umpteem other quivers, and all had too many drawbacks for me and where I hunt. I dumped Lakota style quivers going through the brush. Cat quivers don't fit me at all--way too uncomfortable (I'm a "full figured" guy). Back quivers are too noisy for hunting, too easy to dump crawling through thick stuff, and too hot in the summer for 3-D. I had a full pelt badger (claws and all)similar to the coyote (even had glass taxidermist eyes--looked wicked), but it was like wearing a portable sauna.

I plan to try a Simmons Rotary Quiver next--that's the only style I haven't tried yet, at least that I know of. I'm too old and ugly to worry about looking "cool"--I just want something that's comfortable and works good!
