New Cedar arrows

I ordered some 32" Parallel Port Orford Cedar finished shafts. I had the point and nocks tapered when I ordered them and I fletched them myself and glued the nocks and points. I haven't tried my Zwickey Eskimos yet but did shoot one of the field points several times. I really liked shooting the wood and was really suprised how well they shot. I bought a full dozen with the intention of giving half of them to a fellow hunter in need of some new wood shafts. I ordered them spined for his set up and expected them to be overspined for my set up, but looks like they might work after all. I believe I'll have to give in and hunt with the recurve this week. If I can get the Zwickeys to fly I might even abandon the aluminum with the Magnus heads and go with the cedar and Zwickeys. Wish me luck.

Don't give up on the magnus just because your shooting wood. Magnus glue on just as well as zwickeys do. Good luck to you arrow building and shooting. I have found wood to be very forgiving and that tapered woods shoot better than most other shaft types. Good luck.

You'll find one of them that just shoots better than the others. It will soon become your "#1" or "lucky arrow" it's part of the charm of wood. I love 'em!
Good luck hunting
