Martin Mamba Chrono

my buddy Chrono'd hismARTIN Mamba tday....bow specs are

around 45# @ his26inch draw
shooting a easton 2018 with a 90 grain tip about 27.5 inches long with three 5 inch feathers....7-3/8 brace height, and a finger release via Glove.

shot 127fps
130
129
i was kindof surprised at the #'s i thought the bow would shoot at least 155....they seem like they come out of the bow faster than 127...oh well

now im curious about these guys that say they got Curves that shoot 190-195fps...what are they pulling 70LBS with a 500 grain arrow???

a Mathews switchback @ 65LBS shot 258fps
i dont know the arrow or Draw length tho...im guessing the guys draw was around 28-29 and his arrows were probably somewhere around 360 grain or so

That arrow and point weight combo seems awfully stiff for that poundage and draw length. The chrono might be thrown off due to poor arrowflight coming off the bow.He might want to find a betterspine match and try the chronograph again. The last Martin Mamba Iput through the chrono was45#@28" shooting a 530 arrow at 160 fps for a 5 shot average. My draw lenght is around 28.5".

Probably less than 9 grains/# with a draw length of 28" plus. Your friend won't see those kind of numbers with a 26" draw and shooting 10.5-11 grains/# in arrow weight.

RE: Martin Mamba Chrono

the 2018 used to have 125grain tips on them and they were to whippy for some reason the 90 works much better at least to the eye...he hasnt bareshafted or paper tuned at all.... i did guess that the arrows wouldfly around 155fps and you say you got 160 from yours with a heavier arrow, so maybee he was getting a bad read...dunno much about the science of chrono

Chronos can be touchy about lighting and arrow flight. One of my recurves once shot 300 fps through a chrono. A change in lighting slowed the arrow down considerable though, LOL!
