RE: well.....let's see it.
great looking bows !!!!!! I noticEd you had the selway detachable quiver on on of you bows. How do you like it? I was thinking of getting one for my new CM.
|
RE: well.....let's see it.
I like it a lot. It doesn't move once in place, it helps to quiet the bow by absorbing some of the excess limb vibration and it doesn't affect the bows performance. However, I don't take it off. It stays on the bow 100% of the time. If you will be using it to hunt from a stand and plan on removing it after you're settled in your tree, I think that you'll want to go with another quiver.
Make em sharp and shoot em straight, or leave em home. |
RE: well.....let's see it.
Thanks for the info on the quivers. I am like you, once I put it on the bow it is there to stay.

Jesse
THe great northern quivers are the only way to go. I have three of them and they are the lightest, quietest, nicest bow quivers out there. I'll try to get you agood pic of them. THey have both strap on and bolt on. I have a couple of strap ons and one bolt on. YOu really will be hard pressed to find a better bow quiver. I found the selway to be very heavy and didn't like the way it held arrows. too close together on a longbow. |
RE: well.....let's see it.
Jesse, here are some pictures of great northern bow quivers. They are light, quiet, and sturdy. There is also a link to great northern archery website.

RE: well.....let's see it.
Below is the address for Lost Nation archery. It is their sales page. They have the Selway QD soft kote quivers in black for only $20.00. For this price, it is worth buying one and trying it out. I use the QD on all my bows and like them. A friend has the GN and doesn't care for it a whole lot. He now is using a Boa. It all depends on what you like I guess. Anyway, I thought I would send you guys the info on this quiver cause the price is great and an extra one of anything never hurts.

first of all...hey jimpic nice posters on the wall...I mean nice bows on the wall.
Josh - thanks for the info on the quivers. I have a new recurve coming from CM and looking for a good quiver. I will definetly b checking your recomendations out. lET'S SEE SOME MORE PICS GUYS !!! |
RE: well.....let's see it.
The only thing I don't like about the selway quivers are they are SUPER heavy compared to the great northern and I have had a couple of bows that I have shot that had them on and didn't shoot worth a crap when the quiver was on but shot great without it. I know that they shot noticably slower while carrying the heavy selway quiver. Ihave another budy with a Hunter I t/d that uses the QD selway on it. He seems to like it but when I hold his bow it screws up the balance for me compared to my Great northern but that could be cause I'm used to the GN. THe guys at great northern are realy nice to work with and really a class act all together. ANother nice thing about the bolt on GN quiver is you can take it off without removing the limb bolts. Thier last and probably biggest selling point is that they are very adustable for anything that you may want to do with them. Also they look good. I have heard good things about the boa quivers but never tried them, they may be nice also. Good luck.

CheckMate Falcon. The arrows are for my compound, and the buck was mounted for the IL state taxidermy show this year. The turkey fan ended up directly behind the deer in the picture unintentionaly.

PB,
Those are gorgeous bows! Where do you get your materials? Is this bow your own design, or did you get it from someone like Binghams? Bill Praise the Lord, He is worthy |
RE: well.....let's see it.
Wahya,
The first picture of the Crusader you posted... Is that a white accent strip in the belly of the riser? Do you have any closeups of that riser?? I'd love to get a closer look!! chad |
RE: well.....let's see it.
Bill,
Those longbows are Carl's design...and they are SWEET. JRW |
