Martin Archery Nirk Rebel Recurve??
 

Does anyone have one & if so do you like it & how does it handle & shoot? I looked at one the other day in a local sporting goods store & about fell in love.. My old bear has seen it's day (splitting in half at the grip) & is no longer safe to use. I've been wanting a short brush bow for stand/still hunting. It's supposed to be the best buy for the BUCK..<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have not shot a Rebel, but it appears to be almost identical to the Martin X-200, only scaled down & with a more radical curve at the limbs. Martin quality is excellent for certain. Given the company and the price, you almost can't go wrong if you like short bows.

I agree with str8narrow's comparison to the X-200. A guy at our club used a series of those Nirk bows ranging from 20 pounds up to 35 pounds while he rehabbed his shoulder and elbow. I shot a couple of them. They're well built, shoot good and have more zip than you'd expect. I'd give it a thumbs up, as long as you don't take it to tournaments and expect it to shoot like a Tammerlane. ;)
