RE: Fred Bear Tomcat

I went through my entire Bear catalog cd, from 48-78, and didn't find a Tomcat at all. So, it might have been made after 1978 OR it was a specialty bow for a department store.

Bear did somtimes do that, take a catalog item and make a few cosmetic changes and a slight name change to give it an exclusive name for a big department store. Like the Black Bear. You could get that bow from Montgomery Wards with a few cosmetic differences but renamed the Black Panther.

So, might possibly be that your bow is a Bearcat or Tigercat just renamed for Sears or Wards or someone like that.

Of course, I'm just making a semi-educated wild@$$ed guess here but that's the best I can do.[&:] Hopefully someone else will know exactly what it is and can be more help.
