Best way to hold it when shooting?
I was wondering what is the best angle to hold the recurve when shooting? I have been holding mine at an angle and have found that i hit it more in the middle when I do this. is this good form our should i hold it up right.

It's really a personal things. A lot has to do with your physical makeup and stance.
Personally, I shoot with between 12:00 and 1:00 oclock cant with a recurve. |

RE: Best way to hold it when shooting?
Canting the bow makes it easier to shoot because it puts your eye above the arrow and moves the string out of the way. It's easier to "see" your arrow into the target. The precise angle is not important. Everyone finds thier own. You might try leaning into it a little. I try to have my bow and my upper body at about the same angle.

I find canting my bow at about 1 o'clock works best for me.

Practice with it in all positions from straight up and down to darn near horizontal(sp?). If you plan to hunt you never know what position you will be in or what will be in the waywhen you have to make the shot. Consistant anchor and grip are very very important but get comfortable and confident in all positions. Good luck

RE: Best way to hold it when shooting?
A couple of things that work for me, regardless of the degree of cant--hold your head at the same angle, and be aware of your string hand--if you have to cant more for a particular shot, you are liable to torque the string. Other than that, go with what feels good and is comfortable. Think I cant between 1 and 2 o'clock, but most every tournament I've shot in has at least one shot that puts me in an odd position, and I have to adjust the cant of the bow for the situation.
