Finally, the Silent Crusader

I found some type of fast flight string that came with some other bows I bought. I had 2 of these strings that I have never used. Not sure what type they are but they are some type of FF material. Anyway, I thought I would try one on my crusader and put one set of whiskers on. The top whisker is set at 1/4 and the bottom is set at 1/3 the string length. I set the BH at 7" and what I ended up with was near silence. It was surprising what a different string type did to quieten the bow down. The 450+ I had on it will now be used on my D style bows as they really like Chads' strings. Well, I thought I would let you guys know how my quest for silence finally turned out.

String material makes a big difference. My Crusader came with some kind of muticolored string that was loud as all gitouts. Had Chad make me a couple 450's and it's MUCH quieter now. I'm considering having a Dacron made for it. That ought to make it absolutely silent.

Of the 2 strings Chad made for it, one is a little quieter than the other. Talked to him about that and he said that different colors of the same material actually sound different. Hmm. Amazing.
