Chekmate Falcon arrow ????
Hey guys my new falcon is on the way I am shooting #55@28" mydraw being 28"and my arrow will be cut to29"now I believe its cut to center if not a little past so what does that do for me? should I go with a 2016 or a 2018 aluminum and what weight tip should I start with? Thanks

RE: Chekmate Falcon arrow ????
The Falcon is cut about 1/4" past center. I'm not up to date on aluminum arrow spine, but I'd start with a 125 grain point. www.arrowsbykelly.com has a pretty good spine chart to get you started.

RE: Chekmate Falcon arrow ????
Is that 55 at 28"? Or is it 55 at your 30" draw? If 55 at 28 you'll be drawing closer to 61#'s. The shelf being cut past center will require a stiffer spine arrow. And your arrow cut to 30" will need to be a stiffer spine as well. Arrows are spined at 28". Decrease the spine weight 5#'s for every inch over 28" so at 30" an arrow spined at 50/55 is actually 40/45.
If you're going with easton aluminum arrows you're going to need to go up to the 2020's or 2315's. Some where in that area. The shelf cut 1/4" past center at 55# at 30" draw and a 30" arrow will need a spine close to 65/70. It may need even more because of the shelf cut. |
RE: Chekmate Falcon arrow ????

RE: Chekmate Falcon arrow ????
Okay, 55 at 28" with a 30" arrow and shelf cut 1/4" past center and a 125 grain tip. I suggest an arrow spined in the 65/70# range. But with the arrow cut to 30 and the shelf cut past center you may need 70/75# spined arrows. XX78 2314's. Is there a bow shop close to you where you can shoot different spined arrows? That would be the best bet.

RE: Chekmate Falcon arrow ????
Hi, i'am shooting a samick deerslayer recurve, 55# at 28 draw, i'am shooting 2018 arrows tipped with a 125 grain head and my arrows fly like darts, my arrows are 30 inches long, start off with a longer arrow and cut shorter as needed.
