Knocking point position

Hi all, i was wanting to know where the correct position of the knocking point should be for a recurve or where would be a good place to start my tuning from?

RE: Knocking point position

Your knocking point should be 1/2" above square unless you shoot knock over then it should be 1/8" above square.

Good luck and Good shootin!

I start at 3/4" high and work down. Let the bare shaft tell you

As you can tell, a knocking point location is not a fixed distance. It varies by bow and shooting style. Try tying a piece of string around your bowstring as a marker, andslide up or downuntil you get straight arrow flight. Once you get straight flight, that's what it will be for your bow. I have to have my knocking point 7/8" above square to have my arrows fly straight.
