hitting the arm(help!!)

help!! My bowstring keeps hitting my arm. Doesn't seem to effect the accuracy, but it makes a loud slapping sound and hurts like crazy. Bending over helps but i hate it(feels like i'm falling). Anybody have any ideas. Thanks.

I hit my arm from time to time. Buy a good armguard. It doens't seem unusual for traditional equipment.

You can raise your bracehieght by twisting your string, and that can help some but might lose very little speed.

Besides brace height (I'd set it to the outward recommended limit), you may want to take a more open stance, don'tshoot witha locked out/extended bow elbow, rotate your bow elbow outward, not downward. Also your grip/hold could be effecting your arm slap.

Rotating your bow arm elbow out instead of down (most people have their elbow pointed down naturally) will help a lot. It also helps you keep from locking out your arm, and you won't have to change anything about your grip.
