SALVAGE WOOD MAPLE RISER

anyone ever see a or here of risers being made of this type of wood? The maple logs im talkin about are salvaged from the bottom of lakes and rivers, and are very old growth tight grained logs that sunk for whatever reason. this wood is VERY stable and has aawsome brownish-pink color to it. Some pool cue makers that are fortunate enough too have a log, cut and turnit into cue shafts because of the stability and solidness of this wood. Ive also heard it looks different under a microscope than the maple we are all used to.
