Me too , started two years ago but haven't punctured anything as of yet . We can't use crossbows during our early archery period(yet;)) , so I bought a recurve to hunt that time frame to extend my time afield .

Hunted a few years with one, then went to the longbow. Either way, they are sure a blast to shoot.

This is my first year hunting big game with a recurve. I've done pretty good on rabbits and close on a couple of coyotes.

I started bowhunting in 1981 with one. I have never felt compelled to switch.

Been hunting with a recurve for several years, a long bow from time to time. Good luck to all this year.

I have hunted Birds, Rabbits, Squirrel and Whitetail with my recurve since I was 12 years old (I'm 34 now) and can honestly say that taking a deer with a traditional bow is very rewarding.

The first deer I took with it was five feet away. I watched it come in for 20 minutes. When she got into a blind spot I drew back (60#) and waited for her to emerge again. The picked my spot and let her fly.

She ran about 20 yards and dropped.

I highly recommend hunting with traditional bows.

Since the kitty is from Arkansas and constantly preaches about choice I'm inclined to doubt it , in fact I think he has one too . ;)

Kevin
I guess you missed his rants on crossbows. He went off one time and ran a post to 20 pluse pages on how crossbows should be banned in the modern bow forum. I got a kick out of it. Sybil is good for a laugh here and there.:D
