Crusader in my basement

That's right. My brother brought his down and left it for awhile. I shot it tonight a bunch and it is a good shooting bow. My bow is quieter but I think it is the string. I shot a dozen shafts with each bow and put them all in a 4 inch group with both bows. Seems I shot them both equally well. So much for helping me decide which bow I am going to buy next. I am going to wear it out for the next week or so and see how I like it though. It was nice to just pick it up and group like I can with my own bow. Also, does anyone have a pic of one with a purpleheart riser? This bow has a PH stripe in the riser and man is it bright. Would like to see one with a whole riser like that. Anyway, I'll let you guys know how I like it after a week or so of shooting it.

Also, what braceheight do you guys favor measuring from back of shelf to string?

Thanks,
Strutter

mine is measured at 7 1/4 from the back of the handle to the string. I placed the silencers 1/3rd the way down the string, could have gone 1/4 the way and got it quiter. Also arrow weight will contribute to sound (or lack there of). I hear ya on how it shoots. I couldnt believe how well I shot it days after I bought it!! Shot a caribou my first year with it LOL Then again I think I could have speared him at the distance of 5 ft but none the less its a fine shootin bow! What bow do you have to compare it to?

Soooooo many bows, so little time <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>!

I was wondering what bow you were comparing it too as well. Always interested in how the different bows compare to each other.

What Dan said about quieting the bow works. It helped mine to quiet right down. I also placed a 6 arrow Selway quick detach quiver that I converted to 4 arrow on the bow and a soft thud is the only sound it makes and as near as I can tell, it didn't change how the bow shoots or where the arrows hit. I like it with the quiver.

I am comparing it to my Legend longbow. It was made by Jim Johnson from Missouri. It is super quiet and shoots great as well. It is 62&quot; long and is 56@26. Has red elm limbs and an ipe riser with a 450+ string. I can shoot this bow well and am either going to have him make me another or may get a crusader. They both shoot great but the crusader is 8 lbs lighter and it is kinda hard to compare them for smoothness right now. Not sure what I will get at this point as I like them both.
