going from 2018's to beeman 500's...UGH!
here is a question for you guys. i bought a 50# recurve last year and i am starting to get geared up for this season, i was shooting easton 2018's at 29 1/2 inches long with 125gn field points for practice and was doing good getting good groups.
However, somewhere this week i decided to go out and swith to carbons - Beemans 500 at 28inches and 100gn field points. Now the draw length is not an issue, i originally bought the 2018's long incase i needed to shorten them. Well tonight i shot the carbons and they are comg out of the bow in like a big corkscrew going to the left until they hit the target. I am still hitting the target at 25 yds but i was hoping for better flight. ANy advice would be greatly appreciated. ps i got the new arrow advice from the guy at the pro shop that shoots traditional. Do you think it might be the light grain tips or would i have to adjust the nock??? Please help. Thanks |

if you are right handed and they are impacting with the nock to the left you may be under spined. try shooting a bare shaft at 20 yards and check the impact. i just tried some gold tip classics and had to play with various weights to get them flying true.
