Bad idea to shoot diff. Trad Bows
 

I recently got a 35lb recurve for the little lady that her mother had. Its pretty fun to shoot and actually accurate. Is it bad for me to shoot alot? Will I mess up my instintive shooting for my longbow? I mean my longbow is 53# and little faster. I have using Bryon Ferg method of split vision for shooting. And of course shooting the recurve, my POI is different.

Not to sound like a cop out, but that all comes down to you.
Know some who can shoot half a dozen different bows and have no problem switching between them, and know others who can't without messing up and having to spenddays/weeksreadjusting to how and where it shoots.

Guess some people just can do it no problem. I am not that good, but I can switch bow to bow IF I've already spent enough time shooting them to already be familiar with them and take a few minutes to adjust in my head.

Yea, Ihear ofsome guys who go to alot of effort, to get like a certain length arrow that may be weaker or stiffer, so it doesn't mess up thier split vision technique.

I have my hands full gettin ready for bow season this year with my longbow, probably should stick with that. But the recurve is fun. Real light bow, that I am ashamed to say performs close to my 53# longbow.

A friend of mine can switch between bows almost at will- he's simply a fantastic archer.

It takes me a few dozen arrows to settle after switching bows, but as a rule I don't struggle too much. But I find going from longbow to recurve easier than vice versa.

I switch bows quite a bit. Just takes me 2-3 arrows to get everything lined back up. I'd just try it and see if you have any trouble. You might just surprise yourself. The more you do it the faster your brain will be able to figure out what's going on. Those darn brains sure get in the way a lot.

I can switch from my long bow 60lb to my recurve 45lb with alittle work. I have to cant the curve less and my release has to be perfect.2 or 3 days and I can make the switch.
