RE: Finally Finished 1
Yeah Big Country , It started as a hobby when I was around 12.
Then about 5 years ago ,I took to building a longbow, I always shot recurves, It was a Hickory 72 " @ #50 with a 28" draw and bamboo backed, I went to archery outffiters in Georgia, I got a lot of laughs from guys that had black widows and other expensive stuff. I was there 3 days and shot 4 deers, we sort a had a shooting competition at midday and my bow outshot all the other bows,LOL.( In reality it was my shooting not the bow) So a guy offered me $250 for it and I sold it, since then I being building 10 to 15 longbows a month for people I don't even know where they got my name,LOL. But it is a lot of work so I have a carpenter now that rough them out for me and I do all the intriicate work and tunning. Same thing happened with the taxidermy and now is a job I don't like. ;) |

Alex, same thing happened to me. I started painting for people I knewa few years ago, now I could paint 7 days a weekand still turn jobs down. Only difference, painting is not at all fun and kills my back.
I want to start on a bow so bad, I just cant find the time. I am hoping by winter I will be able to getinto it. |
RE: Finally Finished 1
Just start a bit at a time, Usually I spent about an hour a day, working the wood relaxes me.
Now Am putting about 8 hours a week into the new hobby,LOL |
