NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)
I noticed on the leatherwall they have been having a 300 round online tournament...... Just wondering if any of ya'll would be interested in doing that on this board?
|
RE: NFAA 300.......
I think we tried something like that once here, but sent the actual targets to someone.
Hey it's also nice to see a post here! :D |
RE: NFAA 300.......
Nice to see that there are still a few of you out there. I have been fishing and working none stop for the past few weeks, havent had my laptop around. Second 16 hour day in a row, and no I dont get over time. Hope to get out with the bow soon.
I would be interested to see how my shooting compares to others out there. See what you can set up. Were do you get those targets? |
RE: NFAA 300.......
I was at Cloverdale (left early Thursday am, just got home last night).
We had a "postal" tournament on here for quite a while, and it was a lot of fun. Someone would take on the responsibility of sending out targets and keeping scores (none posted until all targets were in), and either that person or someone else would donate a small prize to the winner. The winner, or whoever wanted to "sponser" the next tournament would set the rules, send out their target of choice, etc. One of my favorites was a cartoon of a guy with a (life size, chest up) apple on his head. The guy had a tag on his jacket that said "IRS". I forget the distance, but the goal was to put as many holes as you could in the apple without hitting the IRS guy. The most holes in the applewon, but any hits in the guy disqualified you. My IRS guy wound up with a bunch of holes in his head (after the first goof, I figured I might as well have fun with it). I'm all for it myself. I'd go as far as to say each participant could send a dollar or three to the sponser to offset the cost of targets and mailing. There's a few sites you can go to and print off targets. It's better to mail them out, so everyone gets the same target. Chad |
RE: NFAA 300.......
I am in for sure, dont have anyone to shoot with around here. Cant cost much to send out a target, what do they take 2 stamps. The only place I can get Targets is Gander MT, not sure what they have. Could make some on the come and get creative. It would take me a while to shoot 300 times with only one arrow in the quiver, got to get to work on that.
I dont think I would stand a chance with LBR (THE CHAMP) in this thing, but it sure sounds like fun. LBR, still waiting to get you video, work enuf you would think I would have more money, soon vary soon. |
RE: NFAA 300.......
...either that person or someone else would donate a small prize to the winner. If I could still shoot a bow, I woulda been up for it. Don't think you guys would let me play, using that horizontal bow of mine. ;) |

ORIGINAL: Arthur P ...either that person or someone else would donate a small prize to the winner. If I could still shoot a bow, I woulda been up for it. Don't think you guys would let me play, using that horizontal bow of mine. ;) If you're man enough to bring it, I'm man enough to let you use it!!!!!!! |
RE: NFAA 300.......
I've got a CD that has280 different targets on it. Animals, spots, designs,etc....... However, as big as I could get it would be printer size paper..... But we could make itinteresting, it would just be a small target......
I'll post a few examples shortly..... The good thing is I could probably email them to some of you as well..... Joel |

RE: NFAA 300.......
Maybe we could mail out 4 or 5 at a time and have different challenges and rules for each one?
Give me some ideas.... I have A LOT more targets! |
RE: NFAA 300.......
Let's start by figuring out how far you can shoot at your home or somewhere convienient? We don't want to make it a hassle to be involved... I can shoot up to 40yds at my house........

RE: NFAA 300.......
Love those targets!
Distance would need to be kept pretty short, I think--20 yds or less. Some folks don't have any further than that to shoot, and most of us don't have an accurate way of measureing anything much further than that (stepping it off is NOT accurate!) Since the targets will generally be smaller anyhow, that shouldn't be a big deal. Prizes should be kept small--I believe most all of us here are honest, but we don't need any temptations spoiling that. I could ante up for the first one with a dozen natural barred (wild turkey) feathers, either full length or 5" sheild. I'm not sure if I have right wing, left wing, or both right now. I do have some 5" barred in chartruese and grey that I am pretty sure I have in left or right. Let's just say a dozen feathers for now. Chad |
RE: NFAA 300.......
Sounds good to me Chad.... Here are some more examples... I can email these to anyone interested or you can just save them from here and print them off.

RE: NFAA 300.......
I can shoot up to 30 yards at home, unlimited at my cabin.
I like the idea of a target send out by one individual. The sender wouldsign the targets. The e-mail/copy idea is OK, but I could print out 20 targets and give you the best of the bunch. Maybe we could though in a couple of bucks, and the winner (or first three placements) gets the money. We'd have to agree to take turns running the contest also. |
RE: NFAA 300.......
Ok,
Let's select 4 targets and I will mail them to all that want to participate.... We need to determine which 4 and then set the rules...... |
RE: NFAA 300.......
I kind of like the Osama one myself.
|
RE: NFAA 300.......
Ok then.
1. Osama...... Everyone will enjoy that 2. Squirrel..... That should be fun Ya'll pick the other 2 and set the rules and we can start a new thread to sign up.... I'll give everyone a couple days and then mail them out.... |
RE: NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)
I like all the targets, the only one I am sick of is the Binladen (spelling??)one, I have killed so many of them in the past few years. . I can shoot way out at my house, but will I hit anything out past 25????????? I think 20 is a good distance.

RE: NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)

RE: NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)
I am in for any of the targets.
100% for AP being includedin on this with his new X-bow, he cant be that good with it :). His target could be 1/100th the size of the ones we get........ When we going to start this thing,I am all amped up for it. Havent shoot in a few so I will need to get to work, dont want to look bad or anything. Bobco, dont let that kid of yoursin on this, make us all look bad. |
RE: NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)
Ok Guys the 4 targets I will mail out will be
1. Osama 2. Squirrel 3. Bunny with kill zone 4. Crow with bullseye We can do these 4 this time and a new 4 next shoot..... I figured something like 4 shots....1 from 10, 1 from 14, 1 from 18, and 1 from 20...... All targets will be signed by me to ensure no copies are made of the original... No problems with copying it for practice.... Just use your normal steps for what you would call 10, 14, 18, and 20..... |
RE: NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)
Joel, you still have my address correct?
Bob |
RE: NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)
Bob,
I don't have it anymore.... Just PM it to me...... I'm going to give everyone a few days to sign up and then I will mail them out.... We should try to do it a couple times a month to keep it interesting and exciting!! |
RE: NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)
Bobco, dont let that kid of yoursin on this, make us all look bad. He was funny the other day he was shooting and having an off day for himself. It was funny how things changed though when I hung a folded dollar bill on the target and he wacked it first shot at 10 yards. What a shark! I'm gonna have to keep him away from pool tables. :D DC-How are gonna score targets without scoring lines? |
RE: NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)
I'll post pics of the shot targets and we can vote on who shot the best 3 shots......

RE: NFAA 300 (On-line tournament discussion)
I wrote this to DC in a PM but thought I would tell everone. I think each round the a new person will send out the targets of his/her (ya never know) choice and set the rules for the contest.Any rules they want, they could chang the distances (to a point we can all shoot to), could say that some shots must be from a different position. That way it will stay new. I have an idea for a cool target, a no guts no glory type of target, just have to make one up. The rules for the round could be sent out with the targets that way we will all get them for sure.
DC has this one so I say he makes the rules and we have to live with them. I would be more then happy to go next, just have to find a cool prize for the winner. I have the dried out leg fromthe bird I got, dont know if anyone would want it, I sure dont [:'(] I like the idea of using the printer paper size targets, that way we can send them in a small envolope with just stamps. Just so you know I shoot great today, GREAT, lets get this thing going. |
