Rests
 

I have always used simple flipper rests, or simple pad raised rests on my recurves. Im looking to outfit a new bow with a different rest, just to play with to see how I like other rests. What would be some suggestions for a rest. Im putting this on a older bow I recently found, a 77 model Herter's recurve.

I use Tanned deer forehead skin with hair on.

Probably the rest that most people used on that Herters bow when it was new was a simple NAP Flipperest II. It's a stick on with a simpleplastic coated wire forthe rest. You can still occasionally find they laying around archery shops. They retailed for about $4.

Thats what I use on my recurves now. The good old fashion flipper rests, that and the rasied cushion rests. I went from the shelf to flippers back in the 80s. I was just wondering what is the latest fashion.;)

Burnie, the Hoyt Super Rest was used back then and is still used today, even by the Korean Olympic Team. For $3 you can't beat it. If you want something a little less delicate you could always opt for a Bear Weatherest. Most all of the magnetic flipper rests today require a pressure button to prevent feather wear.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like things have not changed in the trad world.For a whileI had been using my compounds a lot. I cut off some fingers a while back and couldnt shot with fingers. They are all healed up, but didnt take time to get back into my trads. The last 3 years I have been using my trads agian, and was wondering if something new and improved had come out. I guess I just need to keep on using what works for me.
