MASSIE LONGHORN

I’m buying a trad bow and this one has been offered to me, any info or comment on it???
It’s a Massie “Longhorn” 55# @ 28” and 62” it’s been shot no more than 100 times…

BUY IT!:)

If you need further discussion, you might findbows that are equal to it, but none that are better. Massy has retired and there won't be any more of them. Buy it.

I rarely have any reason to disagree with Art, but in this case I'd say shoot it first. No one bow is perfect for everyone. 99% of what I've heard about those bows has been good (never shot one myself, at least not that I remember), but there's been several bows that I have seen raved about that just didn't impress me in the least. I have heard his finish is second to none--never heard otherwise there.

It may be THE bow for you, or it may not. Down side is if you love it, you won't be able to get another made for you.

Thank you both for your comments… Yes he is no longer making bows so it’s going to be difficult to get one of his bows in the future.
I have been shooting it for a couple of weeks and it feels great, but I have not shot that much trad bows that’s why I was asking for opinions.
Thanks again and hope to hear some more opinions out there.

I have one of his bows. He made it for me and I had the pleasure of going and meeting him and picking out woods etc. Was a great experience and an unbelievable bow. I bought a recurve so I could has a bit shorter bow and something different. Ended up selling it because my longhorn performs so much better. If you like it, I'd buy it.

NORMALLY, that's what I'd say too. In this case, even if it wound up NOT being the bow for you, you'd still have some excellent trade bait. But, since you have been shooting it and already like it...;)

I have shot several Longhorns and they rank right up in theTop 10... at least on MYlist of great bows.:D

It's going to be quality, I'm sure. So if you are in the market and the price is right and you like it, I wouldn't hold back or be afraid to buy it.
