Look What I Found!!!
Look at what I found burried under a coat of flat black spray paint. My dad bought this bow at a yard sale about 7-10 years ago for between $5-$10. I decided to try and clean the paint off and see what was underneath. So I took some 91% alcohol and 2 roll of paper towells later I found a Beautiful1968 Bear Kodiak Magnum. What a beautiful Bow, and might I ad a great shooting one at that. It feels so great I will be shooting it at the Pennsylvania Indoor State Championships in april. Hardly a scratch on it. The top limb had just the slightest twist in it, but I was able to straighten it right out by using the hot and cold water method. I was so excited to see what was underneath that flat black spray paint that I didn't take any before pics but here are the after pics.

That's an awesome looking bow. Since he only bought it for $10......I'll give you $20 for it. Sound like a deal? :)

Put a 1 in front of that 20 and i'll think about it. Well I thought about it and NO sorry bud, It's staying with me, I shoot it entirely too well. It almost seems like an extension of my arm when I shoot it, and to find a bow that feels like that is far and few between.

RE: Look What I Found!!!
What idiot would paint over such a beautiful bow?
|
RE: Look What I Found!!!
Aussie, that is exactly what I asked myself. And to think my dad purchased it just to use for bowfishing for shark and stingray. Heck I know it had been just thrown into the bottom of a boat a few times. Actually I wish I could thank the guy who painted it because that is probably what saved it from lots of scratches.

That is a great find. I have a friend that has an old Browning nomad he uses. It is painted black and camo. Could we get it off the same way:eek:

OHdeerguts, If it is regular spray paint you should be able to get it off with just regular 91% alcohol (Isopropyl) available at wal-mart(Make sure you get a big bottle). The way I understand it is that the clear finish that is underneath is some increadibly tough stuff, But I still reccommend trying it on a small spot on the bow before you go diving into the whole thing. If you have any more questions feel free to ask,
