Recurve help needed.....

I've got the recurve bug..... I've got a light weight recurve now that is 40@28..... But I'm looking for something in the mid 50's at 28.......

I'm wanting this to be cheap as I plan to just play around with it and use it for chasing beavers, fish, etc..... But if it shoots well I would consider hunting with it......

So.......$200 and under...... used, what would you go for???

Ebay up a Bear Grizzly or Kodiak Hunter. Might get lucky and get a Kodiak Special. Keep an eye on the 58" Wing RedWing Hunters (absolutely LOVE mine). Or a Pearson Colt. Or a Shakespeare Necedah.

If you get lucky, maybe you can find someone wanting to sell a ChekMate Falcon. Doesn't happen very often, it seems, but I guess anything's possible.;)

Art, what is it specifically that you love about it? The history, or some shooting characteristic?

Looks like the shelf is cut closer to the hand. Is this part of the love?

Rangeball, first off,I think the bow is gorgeous. It's very light in the hand. Excellent balance.Surprisingly good performance for it's draw weight. It's draw is butter smooth and hardly any finger pinch, even at my draw length. The grip feels custom made for my hand. It shoots where I look.

I've spent hundreds of dollars on custom bows that couldn't do better. Some not even as well.

Then there is also the history. It's one of my "I wish" bows from when I was a poor, starving student.:D

What's not to love about it? ;)
