Question about this old Kodiak?

RE: Question about this old Kodiak?
Rich, I'd hold off until you get more information. I think that is one of the first Bear bows, and it looks to be in decent condition. I've got the e-mail of a collector around here somewhere, just got to find it. He can tell you what it's worth. I don't think that design was that great of a shooter, but it may be worth a bit.

RE: Question about this old Kodiak?
I've been snooping my Bear Archery catalog disc. That bow doesn't show up until 1950 and is gone by 1953. In '53, the Kodiak was a full working recurve instead of the static semi-recurve. I'd say it's worth a fair amount of money to a dedicated Bear collector.

I can't find it Rich, but I have a friend looking. His name is Lonnie Collins from MI. You might ask around on the boards and get some contact info. on him.

That's it! Knew it was something I should be able to remember, but..........
I haven't even seen a deer in the woods. Seems they are moving mostly at night here, and it's as dry asa box of snuff. Hopefully it will cool off again soon and my luck will change. Chad |
