I've been shooting at 28" draw, and my real draw lenght is 23.75"... ;)

It might work for some folks, but it sure isn't going to be correct for everyone. I measured 27.5", and I draw 30.5". I used to draw 32" on a longbow, but I changed my anchor to the front of my face. I still draw about 32" on a high-wrist recurve. The only way to know exactlywhat you draw on a particular bow is to draw that bow.

I wonder how many complained that their 23" draw 45#er seems really reallly heavy... :D

I measureshort using that method too. I found it much more accurate to mark out an arrow at 26, 26.5, 27, 27.5, etc and actually draw several times with my wife watching the marks to determine my true draw length.

The yardstick method puts me at 25.5 or so and the other method I used has me right at 27".

Methinks someone has just put up "information" they picked up somewhere without actually testing it to see how accurate it is. My "true" draw length, according to that site, won't get my fingers to my face. It might be more accurate for a kid, but I doubt it.

Actually I'm between 26.5 and 26.75" Damn, shorter than I thought.;)

I measure 33 1/2", which happensto actually bemy draw length with a compound. But it's an inch-and-a-half too long for my sticks.

I think the one where youstick your fist on the wall and measure to the corner of your mouth is better.;)

Now Arthur's method puts me right at 27". It seems every method I've used has me within about 1/2" of each other. Hopefully this a good thing.

Does anyone know anything about those blue "recurve" draw length measuring bows that shops have?

I was at a farm and home store this weekend, just nosing around, they had one of these hanging so I got it down, pulled it back and asked my daughter to tell me what the measurement was. 27" is where the eye screw intersected the shaft. I let down and pulled back several more times, consistently getting 27".

Are these things set up to account for the + 1.75" from the deepest part of the grip AMO standard, or do I have to add this to the 27" I measured?

I was tempted to walk through the store with the bow to the hardware section and grab a tape measure off the shelf, but didn't :)
