Short hunting bow
 

I have been thinking about a short bow lately for tree stands and ground blinds. I only draw between 27" and 28" and would like a bow that is smooth.I know that short and smooth don't usually go together in a bow ,but would anyone have a suggestion on a good short bow. I would think with my draw length, I could go to 56" or maybe a little shorter.Any help would be greatly appricated. Don

I am strictly a longbow guy, and wanted a short bow for the brush also. I ordered a supershrew LAST NOVEMBER!! it isn't here yet. I've been using a Mahaska recurve (with longbow handle and riser) and find it to be a dandy bow for this use. smooth, and quiet. Accurate and forgiving, but not specially fast. I would recommend one. they have a three year warranty.

u dont need no stinkn short bow <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>. Shot my spike with my 68&quot;er sittn flat on my fanny, cross legged, on the ground!

Not only that but shot my doe at 28 yards out of a treestand, which I havent hunted out of previously for 6 yrs.

So I guess for me the only place a short bow would have any signifigance would be a enclosed ground blind.

Bear Archery's Kodiak Magnum is 52&quot; and the Grizzly is 58&quot;, both would probably be good for brush and treestands. I don't know much about custom bowyers and how short their bows are though.

Chek-Mate Raven. Mine is #47 @28. Smoth and no finger pinch.Shoots a 2018 with a 140 grain BH right where I want.

that's fine in AK, but we hunt in briars so thick, I doubt you could sit down with a 68&quot; bow, let alone draw it!

I'm hunting with a Morrisom Arapaho. A one piece 54&quot; recurve. It shootsmy 550 grain African ebony reed wood real good. Take downs are nice but who needs em in a &quot;short&quot; bow?

Im going to be selling my Cascade 52&quot; 54lb after the season here is over or mabye sooner if I get my grizzly tuned quick. I love the cascade but I want to move up in weight to 65lbs. It has shendua(sp)and bocotein riser, with birds eye maple inlays. and is in great shape. the bow is made for cascade, by checkmate and it draws good out to 29&quot; so my long draw friends tell me.......Nate
