Cock vane in or out?

How do you guys shoot?

After reading something on I think arrows by kelly's site, I've been shooting cock in. Since I'm shooting carbons with a lot of weight up front, I'm wondering if the carbons are still too stiff to shoot cock in as I'm probably not getting a huge amount of paradox for the feather to clear the riser. However, I'm shooting good so I'm not gonna worry about it too much, unless you guys tell me different... :)

If you're shooting good, don't mess with it.:)Anyway, I've never had much luck shooting a recurve with the cock feather in. With longbows, it doesn't seem to matter which way I nock up.

Yeah, this late in the game my broadheads and field tips are hitting the same, so I think I'll leave well enough alone...:)

I was just curious how everyone shoots.

What specific problems did you have with cock in on a recurve? I've got the 5.5" HP parabolics from True flight, and am getting great flight.

With my recurves, it always seem like I get feather deflection off the side of the bow with cock in. Lots of fishtailing. Might be because my arrows are so flippin' long and are starting the second part of paradox before my feathers ever clear the bow? I dunno.

I'm sure it's because your release is so perfectly mechanical there isn't enough paradox induced to clear the bow...:D

I shoot with it out. Just habit. No reason, just was taught that way. I've tried both. My longbow could care less as far as I can tell. Or, more like it, I'm so inconsistant which way the cock is oriented doesn't affect anything as much as I do.
The recurve has a really broad shelf, I would think it may have trouble clearing it. I'll have to try it in and see.

Here's a link to the info I read that lead me to shooting standard 3 fletch cock in in case anyone is interested-
