Lord of the Rings bows
Anyone know who made the Lord of the Rings bows? Just wondering if they are/were actually functional or just props.

RE: Lord of the Rings bows
I think they were made by the Weta Workshop and were just props. A couple of outfits are making unauthorized replicas though. www.rudderbows.com (not too outrageous) and www.bowstick.com(expensive!![:-])

RE: Lord of the Rings bows
I saw a site where a guy was offering LOTR bows, and each one came with a little story by the picture. My first thoughts were "this guy has read the books/saw the movies one time too many!".
No idea if the bows in the movies were real or props--sorry. Chad |
RE: Lord of the Rings bows
I really liked the static recurve the Uruk-hai chieftan used to shoot Boromir in The Fellowship. I'd bet a real horn and sinew replica of that bow would be a killer... but I'd hate to pay the price for it! [:-]
I'm really wanting to build a couple of recurves like Legolas carried in the movies. |

Ya know what would come in handy is that quiver that always is full of arrows, I could have used that today.

Guss,
That's my lounge! My wife told me:" You're making more arrows than you're losing. You need to take some time off work and go shooting more." She only said that because one corner is disappearing under an avalanche of arrows. |

Arthur-
I was thinking the same thing......impressive bow (and arrow) he was pulling. |

Jakes
If you need more room just give me a call. I would be happy to store some arrows for ya, but dont be upset if they get used alittle. |
