Season Update

Well boys, I've been busy and haven't had much posting time lately...... I've made 6 hunts and have seen 2 deer.... A doe and a spike...... I missed the doe at 10yds:D Totally forgot to pick a spot, concentrate, etc..... Arrow went right over the back.....A lesson learned I hope.....

Goodluck all and keep us posted.....

LOL! A couple of friends went up to Alaska on a caribou hunt. One shot over a bull at 15 yards and the other missed low on his bull. It happens to everyone.:D

I've not gotten in range of a deer this year, but I did do a mourning dove a great injustice with a Snaro mounted on a fluflu.;)So far, that's my only bow kill of the season.

Right now I've got one critter on my list... The armadillo that's doing a rototiller job on my backyard.[:@]Stayed up til 2 AM this morning to see if he'd come in and woke up 4 hours later to find out he'd been back. I'll get up at 4 tomorrow, hoping he's making the rounds then. I've got a bludgeon with his name on it, fer sure.

Dove breasts wrapped in bacon , doused liberally with BBQ sauce while being seared over charcoal, withbaked taters and salad on the side, and followed by aglass of cabernet sauvignon... Makes my mouth water just thinkin' about it.:)

By the way, it IS mourning dove. Says so right there in the regs. We've also got white wing and white tipped doves. No closed season on Eurasion collared doves or feral rock doves. Feral rock doves are what most of us call plain ol' pigeons. ;)

Mourning doves are named from the call they make. Sounds like someone mourning......

Do you eat the armadillo's too? Here in MO I've had two armadillos within 20 yards of me. They sure can make a racket rooting in a creek bed.
