RE: Update on Shrewshooters bear
Mike,
That is a bigun'! I would love to see one that size in the wild in Randloph County. I wouldn't take a shot, but I would love to look. I hope you get a shot and are able to harvest him! Bill Praise the Lord, He is worthy |

RE: Update on Shrewshooters bear
This may be a silly question, but do you guys eat the bear after you kill it? If so, how does bear meat rate relative deer, elk, and moose?

RE: Update on Shrewshooters bear
Shrewshooter,
Hope you arrow that nice bear. Best of luck in your hunting season. Muddler, I have a co worker that hunts bear and he described the taste of bear meat as having a sweet pork taste. Strongbow |

RE: Update on Shrewshooters bear
Man--looks like a dang nice bear! Good luck!
I had my first taste of bear meat recently, and it was great. It was fixed like roast in gravy--very good and very tender. Didn't taste at all like deer to me--closer to beef, but a bit different. I've heard guys say that they didn't like it at all--my guess is the way it is cooked has a lot to do with it, and probably the bear's diet as well. I'm looking forward to my next opportunity to get a meal of bear meat! Chad Long Bows Rule! |
