Take Down Question

I got a PSE Impala recurve takedown and I've noticed that after 8-10 shots, the limbs are no longer lined up, but instead are at an angle to each other. Is there something I can do to fix this or is it something common to takedowns?

RE: Take Down Question

That shouldn't be happening. Check your limb bolts. If that doesn't help, and you bought it new, send or take it back. This will cause the limbs to twist.

RE: Take Down Question

Any good take-down should have alignment pins as well as limb bolts for each limb. Some have two limb bolts instead. This provides two anchor points on each limb. If your bow doesn't have two anchor points for each limb, they'll pivot. If you do have two anchors, either one's loose or they are miss-aligned. Either way, dump the bow.

RE: Take Down Question

When you check the limb bolts, just check to make sure they're snug. You don't want to torque the snot out of them or you can crack or crush the limb butts. There are a bunch of different methods bow makers use to index the limbs on takedowns. I don't know how that bow of yours is done, but something is definitely not right.
