Wooden arrows

After many years of shooting compound bows Iam beginning to get back to traditional bow hunting, for you guys that are traditional i have one question.
What type of wooden arrow you recommend for a 50# recurve bow, bow is very fast shooter, what spine do you recommend and broadhead ?
Thanks

I think the traditional forum would be ALOT more helpful

:eek:i thought this was the traditional forum, and you will have to have arrows that are spined for you`r bow weight most any archery shop can fix you up with that.:(

I like a bit stiffer spine in my bows ........ but every bow is different too. The way the shelf is radiused or lack of, cut center of slightly off, shelf material ....... I think it all factors in as well as your own shooting style/release

I buy 100 shafts at a time through a company in Oregon - best shafts I've ever seen. I bought them in 3# increments, and then i cut and shoot them and see which flies the best. I don't think there is a quick, one stop answer to which spine/wood flies the best out of a given bow, you know ?

But I do love wood shafts ........... carbons probably are mor consistant and certainly more durable but theres a love affair with wood thats undeniable

What is your draw length, arrow length you want, is shelf cut to center, past center?. if you draw 28" and use a 29" BOP then I would choose as a starter 60-65 or 65-70 spine. Give us the details and I be someone can help.

try to find a shop that different size spines. I went to a shop here in Jersey and find out that my 54#@27" long bow likes 75#-80# wooden arrows, they flew like darts.

Thank you all for your replies, iam re-learning and it seems my 50# recurve like heavier spines also 60-65 left wing helicals with 51/4' ' turkey vains are dead center 9 out of 10 shots at 20 yrds.
