bow speed

I know that speed is not really a big issue for recurve bows but does anybody know how fast the Hoyt Gamemaster is supposed to be?

RE: bow speed

No idea here--speed can be affected by a LOT of variables--draw length, arrow weight, type of string, weight of string (number of strands, amound and size of serving, silencers, etc.), release (glove is generally a little slower than a tab, release aid is faster than a tab, don't expect the same speed with fingers vs. a shooting machine, etc.), how clean your release is, how well the arrows are matched to the bow, etc. With the right set-up you can get some remarkable speeds, but don't expect the same in real world shooting. I could break 240 fps, maybe even 250 fps, with the right set-up on my longbow. I average 187 fps with my real world set-up though.
