New Recurve

Well I picked up me new recurve today and I really like it. I haven't had this much fun with a bow since I killed my first deer with a compound. Today is the first time i have ever shot a recurve alot...results were a stiff shoulder, sore fingers, 1 lost arrow, and alot of practice left to do.LOL I completely missed the block on the first shot but as the afternoon wore on my groups got considerably better. I was really pleased with my last few groups at about 17 yards. It is a Jefferies Archery Classic 60. 54 lbs at my draw length and a sweet shooter.

Sounds like you're having some fun! Congrats! Don't worry about the lost/damaged arrows, it happens, and will probably happen again. [:@]

If you can find one cheap in good condition, you might think about buying a 45# recurve to practice with. Your shoulder and your fingers would greatly appreciate it!! I live in Goose Creek in the Charleston Metro area. Where do you live?

Thanks for the tip. After only 4 days of shooting I am already getting used to it. My shoulder is not sore anymore and my fingers don't hurt. I live about 10 miles from Florence. I'll see if I can post a pic later.

Jeffery makes a good bow. I've had one for about 15 yrs. You don't read much about them. They are tough, havegood speed and, for me,are easyto shoot.

My groups are getting better alot faster than I thought. Today I played around the yard with some judo points and had a blast. I believe that I will be accurate enough to hunt with this bow by the time season starts.
