Default Sabotloader Is A Cruel, Cruel Man

Well guys, I've shot what's probably over a hundred different load combinations out of my Mustang. I have a canvas tool bag that weighs about 40 pounds with maybe eight or tendifferent 50 caliber bullet styles in it - from 250 grains to 410 grains - Speers, Hornadys, Lees, Remingtons, Sierras, etc. I've got more possible load combinations than I can ever get to.

So what does Sabotloader say? "Have you ever shot any slip fit Bull Shops or No Excuses?"

"No" I say.

"You really should try some ofthem" he says.

"Maybe one day" I say "but I've got lots of loads yet to shoot. Besides, I'm pretty busy with the new flintlock"

So the cruel, cruel man sends be an assortment of test bullets to try, and demands that I shoot them. THE NERVE OF THAT GUY!

Well anyway, I did as I was told. Gotta do your homework. Below is a picture of the bullets he sent, and fivetargets from the range session. When I finished shooting the conicals, I shot one target with my tried and true Gold Dot load just to confirm my shooting technique for the day.

Here's the bullet assortment.

looks like you found some good loads there semisane.. now you can spend some of that money you squander all the time and get some bull shop bullets to add to your collection too..

Thanks again SL. I had a few disappointments. First, I forgot to bringthe dang fiber wads you sent along with the bullets. So I used some .54 Wonder Wads I had in my range box. Second, the battery on my chronograph was dead, so I didn't get to record velocity - which I really wanted to do. Third, the trigger on the Mustang for some reason returned to it's former gritty, creepy self. I need to pull it out and see what's going on.

Anyway, I can say with conviction that when you touch off 90 grains of T-7 under a 460 grain bullet you know you have shot something. Also, I had horrible crud ring with all four of those loads - but not with the Gold Dots (go figgure).

I really expected the .504 BSs to shoot the best of the group. Maybe I just shot a rotten round with that one - I've been known to do that.

Lots of questions. Would the fiber wad have been better than the Wonder Wads? Would 80 grainsof powderhave grouped better? Would Pyrodex have done better? Am I on my way to TotallyNuts?
