New QAD REST, shooting with blazers. Need advice
#1
I finally bit the bullet and bought a QAD Ultra Pro. I was shooting a Trophy Taker and loved it, but it had one down fall. On a fast or aggressive draw the arrow would once in awhile pop off the rest, not cool. Also for elk hunting this fall I wanted something that had full containment. Now for the questions. For those of you that shoot blazers with this rest, have you experienced clearance issues. I went to the shop the other day and we sprayed the rest down with desenex foot powder, and it was making contact. I think we solved it, but it is very close. If I shot cock vane down it would lightly brush the launcher arm, this was after it fell all the way down, as drop speed was perfect. After adjusting nock point a tad and shooting cock vane up, the top vane squeezed under the bar barely but the edges of the other 2 vanes were brushing the edges of the launcher arms. It seems ok as we tweaked it until it didn't seem to touch, but it is on the edge, very close. Any tips or tricks from people shooting this combo. Sorry about the long post.

Which launcher arm are you using? I've had some contact issue with the right down Blazer that seemed to be from not having the launcher set correctly. Is your rest perfectly perpendicular to the riser when it's fully back? Which launcher arm are you using?
I know a lot of questions.

Dave's the man. He will help you out. He is very good at tuning the QAD.
Just out of curiosity...how hard are you pulling back that the arrow jumps off of the rest?

Can you move your rest forward any?? I know its adjustable back and forth and i had to move mine as close to the riser to not have any contact..

I've always shot my Radial X-Weaves cock vane up with my QAD Ultra. When I started shooting a/c/c 3-71's....I noticed that the arrows were a little fatter than my x-weaves. My blazers were touching the cable. I turned my cock vane down to perpendicular to my string....and all is now well.

I think that's why I'm asking about the position of the launcher at full draw. Mine was not correct and I got contact until I rotated it back. It should work as the arrow goes forward, not on the downward force. If it's too far foward the arrow will not be applying the proper force soon enough to make the arm drop.
