Default Techno Hunt

Nothing beats the mid off season rut of queing up some techno hunt.

Davepjr and I spent two hours yesterday at Lancaster Archery Supply shooting multiple animals at 20yds.

Our first hour was spent shooting Large Game such as Whitetails,Moose, Elk, Water Buffalo, Elephants and an occasional Giraffe.

Once we got the scoring down we shot a second hour.

The second hour was spent hunting small game. Let me tell you, there are some strange creatures in this program.

We shot snakes, doves, squirrels, a monkey (lol), ducks on a pond (double lol), racoons, coyotes, bob cats, rabbits (which I am blind and cannot see!), etc.

I shot an elk in the first session3 times in a row, ran a 40 yd dash and then shot the elk again! lol

Dave shota snake dead nuts in the head and made a FANTASTIC shot on a turtle sitting on a log. LMAO!

It was a fabulous time. Davepjr is an excellent shot,an all around good guy and I am definitely proud to call him my friend.

So I recommend to all of you that are sick of shooting at dots, go and shoot some techno hunt with a fellow HNI member. You never know what will pop up!

That's what ours was. (40 yd dash was to the screen and back. lol)

We paid $10 for an hour. It was worth every penny.

(actually, Dave paid...thanks again Dave!)

Yep I shoot Techno every year. It's a blast and good to compete with your buddies. We always put in $5 a round to make it more interesting.

Josh and I did have a blast. It was my first time and getting used to the bullseyes on some of the small critters was took a while.

Thanks for the compliment Josh. They ripped me off for the shot on the turkey. Right in the back of the head and they gave me a miss!!!

He's too modest to say that he also shot a different snake in the head for a bullseyeand made some great shots on the small animals too. That's after not shooting for a few weeks and just picking his bow up with 70# limbs instead of the 60# that was on and having to sight in right before we shot the techno.

The Large N. American game was more laid back and you had more time to choose a good shot. While on the small game the animals were moving a lot moreand required some quick decisions.

I thought I was going to stink it up with the way I shot before we started. However, once we started on "live" game I found I concentrated a lot more.

Maybe after a few we will have to make it interesting.

There are a lot of good guys in here and I'm just glad I've got to meet one of them and shoot with him. Right back at you Josh.

If you want a challenge, if they have a turkey heads disc, that is both fun and frustrating at the same time. Turkey head is hard enough already but then they start bobbing and weaving around and you want to pull your hair out.

Along those same lines is the duck on a pond.

The wind makes the duck bob up and down and all around.

It is great.

They had turkey on the small game. I hit one square in the head and the program told me I missed. [:@]

Technohunt is a blast. We just got a brand new system installed at the shop I work/shoot for and we play around with it all the time. After the shop closes we shoot it when no customers are there and what a blast. I usually use a recurve because you can really learn to punch the trigger on a technohunt system but it is quite a blast.
