February 23-24-25 -Booth at the Illinois Deer and Turkey Classic in Bloomington IL. We will be at booth 1021. Right next to the Kid's Archery Booth.

April 21-22 - Billy Davis Memorial Tournament at Rend Lake, IL. Numbers shoot, all legal fish. BAA sanctioned.

May 5th-6th- Kentucky Carp-o-ree. This is not a Illinois Bowfishers event, but one several of us are planning on attending. It is at Kentucky Lake in KY. Link for info: http://www.unitedbowhuntersofkentucky.org/events.html


May 19th -Bowfishing and BBQ Bash hosted by the United Bowhunters of Illinois. Headquarters will be the Covey Point loop of the South Marcum Campground at Rend Lake located near Benton Illinois. It is open to all UBI members and prospective members.
BBQ is Saturdayevening May 19th. Those attending are asked to please bring a covered dish to supplement the BBQ. If possible, please let me know how many people you are bringing so I can estimate the amount of meat needed.
This event has seen good attendance in the past. Let's make it bigger than ever this year!!

June 2nd (South) -The Illinois Bowfishers will be running an instructional booth with an area for kids to shoot at mechanical swimming fish down at the Two Rivers Family Fishing Fair in Grafton, IL. (at Pere Marquette). Visit their website atGreat River Road for details of the Fun & FREE Day.
With weather permittingwe will be doing some bowfishing afterwards.


June 9th-10th- 3rd Annual Illinois State Championship at Lake Shelbyville IL. Big 25 Format.Max often of one species. BAA sanctioned.

June 23rd - HuntingNet.com get together in Garden Prairie IL. 3-d archery course, sporting clays, food and fun! (not a bowfishing event unless we want to hit the creek)

July 28-29. BAA World shoot at KY Lake in Kentucky. Another great reason to run down to KY. Two divisions, Big 20 and numbers.

August 11th - Wonder Lake Late Summer Carp Shoot. Wonder Lake, IL. Numbers shoot. BAA sanctioned.

August 25-26- Shelbyville Steak and Dog fun shoot. Lake Shelbyville.
Modified Big 20 format.
Registration at 09:00 on the 25th at Lythia Springs.
24 hour tournament, starting at 10:00am Saturday and going till 10:00 am on Sunday. There will be a 4.00 launch fee and 20.00 entry fee with optional 5.00 big fish pot.
At 17:00 we will have the Steak and dog dinner at the pavilion right off the lake at Lythia Marina. Team with the biggest gar by dinner time will get to eat steaks. Hot dogs provided for everybody else.
We will have a dumpster providedby Gregorys tackle. We will have to bag our fish to put them in there. I will provide the bags and help or count them and put them in there. September 8th. - Fourth Annual Uncle Dave's Drill and Grill.Clinton Lake. Therewill daytime squirrel hunting mixed in.

That should help people keep dates reserved.

I still want another deer this season, but I'm ready for bowfishing too.

And everyone keep in mind that this itinerary is lacking the loads and gobs and tons of fun- and improptu-shoots that will be going on all across the state from our numerous members!

Schedule's looking good! And my calender is looking much better this year! Plan on Team Carp-Enders making a dent in the rough fish population.
