TOP TEN CROSSBOW RULES

yeah keep your hand away from the string. People have lost there fingers

I would say that the one bright spot about rapping your fingers with the string is that I have never heard of any one doing it twice. Most folks learn after once, the rest don't have a finger there anymore to rap!

Let me get this right in rule # 3 you said always cock your crossbow before climbing into your stand.
In rule # 4 you said never raise or lower a crossbow with an arrow it.
So it's ok to raise a cocked crossbow to your stand as long as there is no arrow in it.
Is that right?

How about "make sure bolt is firmly seated against string, avoid a dryfire situation".

If it weren't sad it would be funny but has this really happened? Have fingers really been lost? If its true then there would be lots of clearance afterwards! But seriously has this happened or is it an urban legend?
