RE: cobra sindwinder
do pins break? or is this a rare occurence?
|
RE: cobra sindwinder
believe me Q, i've broken a lot of things that are bow related, but even i haven't done that (yet).

RE: cobra sindwinder
no ones fiber optic chord has ever come out of the pin and broke hu? well does anyone have any ideas of how to fix it, i'm guessing i can unwrap it once around the coil to get the length, but then how do i make it so it won't pull out of the pin? WHat happends when you melt fiber optic chord?thats the only thing i could come up with.

RE: cobra sindwinder
i believe that's what you do, just barely melt it.

RE: cobra sindwinder
imma try it, wish me luck.

RE: cobra sindwinder
I found last year with my SW that the FO Cobra uses is quite fragile...either that or it's just the angle putting undue stress on the FO.
Good thing w/ the SW is you got a couple feet of backup for each pin on the spool Jes run it through and melt it with lighter/match. |
RE: cobra sindwinder
You might also try using a soldering or wood burning iron. Get it hot and then hold it close to but not touching the fiber optic material. You'll get it to melt this way without burning and dis-coloring the fiber. You could also heat a piece of wire over the stove burner or propane torch and use it like a soldering iron. Close but NOT touching;)

RE: cobra sindwinder
i gotter, i just used a fire place starter, no discoloring. But it is a little bigger (i'm guessing cause i melted more than they must have) than the rest of them now, i think i kinda like it bigger.

RE: cobra sindwinder
My wife has a Cobra Sidewinder on her Defender and I was thinking about drilling and tapping the top cap of the fiber optic spool to accept her Copper John light. I'd then make a cover to go over the clear spool cover to hide the light from the eyes of the game. I think this would be the cat's meow in her Double Bull blind;)
